The 2 channels that do work, do so only intermittently. Of the 4 input channels, only 2 of them work.Ģ. Generally I am unhappy with this purchase for several reasons:ġ. Sorely Disappointed, Hoping for Sweet Redemption! I've had a computer go down with a bad hard drive on a recording session. So the sole reason I bought this is so I can take all of my tracks out of my Roland VS 1880 which has 8 outs and send them through the Ultra which has 8 in's into my Mac onto Cubase and now I can manipulate ever note in every track where as of course in the 1880 you only have one page at a time to edit from.I still like the Idea of having an external recorder. So you can see what is working and is not working on the complete interface all at once.Which I thought was cool, because now you can troubleshoot everything. Then I remembered everything on this inter face has to be set up through the software that comes with it. Then I could only get 4 channels to work.
#M AUDIO FAST TRACK ULTRA 8X8 HOW TO#
I use Cubase essentials 5 and I went on You Tube to find out how to set it up easily a week before I bought one ,That helped a great deal. Ok mine took about an hr to set up on my Imac. I read about it for a week before I bought one off Ebay. There were all sorts of bad reviews about there PC 's not seeing the interface.Channels not working on brand new one's. I bought a.M-Audio Fast Track Ultra USB Interface. So I'd like to share my experience with you all. So I've been reading hundreds of reviews on interfaces,I read a lot of bad reviews on about all of them. I've had it for some time and probably used it 3 times. I needed a new audio USB interface I only had a M-audio Duo. Just make sure you are using a powerful enopugh machine if using all 8 tracks at once.
#M AUDIO FAST TRACK ULTRA 8X8 INSTALL#
It was easy to install on my computer, and it supports the latest version of Snow Leopard. I was having a hard time finding a decent product that had at least 8 tracks out as well as in. The reason I bought this was to make my own small studio. It would have been 5 stars if I didn't have to upgrade to use this thing. I'm sure the mac I ordered will have no prblems with this once I get it. I am impressed with this product, but it requires a computer with some serious horsepower in order to use all 8 tracks to the computer. The audio I did capture was nothing less than excellent though. Once you had all the tracks simultaneously recording, it kept locking up because it could not handle the bandwidth.
I was attempting to use this on my old macbook. Sending 8 signals of hi-end audio to your computer will put a toll on it. This thing is Very Demanding on resources. Awesome product, but you need lots of computer to use it!
